We are partnering with Logan Watt Coaching to bring futsal sessions to Fraserburgh. As a 2023 Scottish Cup winner, Logan Watt is no stranger to the game or the club and is perfectly placed as we look to spread our reach across Aberdeenshire.
Club Director, Grant Campbell said 'This is a significant development in the build out of the club. Our stated mission is to grow futsal in the North East. If we are to bring the game to the Shire, we know we need to find quality people to work with. Logan ticks all of the boxes in terms of futsal experience, coaching experience, and shares the same ethos that we have as a club - in particular, providing children with an optimal environment to get maximum touches of the ball and develop their creativity.
Aberdeen Futsal Academy will provide the equipment and session content while Logan Watt Coaching will deliver the sessions. Its a fantastic match for both groups'.
Logan Watt added 'Futsal is growing very quickly and with the youth work that Aberdeen Futsal Academy have been doing, combined with their recent UEFA Champions League experience, it is a perfect time to get the sport up and running in Fraserburgh.
The benefits of futsal are immense, improving so many aspects such as technical ability, awareness, and movement. Children in Brazil, Portugal, Spain and many other top nations grow up on futsal as it cements many of the necessary fundamentals of football. I am excited to bring this opportunity to Fraserburgh'.
On future partnership opportunities, Grant Campbell added 'We will explore any partnerships that we believe will help the club progress in bringing futsal to the North East. This is a perfect test case for the club and we look forward to the future with a lot of excitement.'
